Reception Ceilidh Band

Hazel plays keyboard on the right and Beth plays Fiddle on the Left, both on stage.

What’s a celebration without a ceilidh? If you’re having a wedding or celebration in Scotland, a ceilidh is the perfect way to get everyone up, laughing, and dancing — even the ones who claim they’ve got two left feet.

I’m not just a celebrant — I’m also a professional musician, totally immersed in the Scottish traditional music scene — so bringing live ceilidh music into your big day just makes sense.

So, what actually happens?
Here’s what it looks like when you book us:

  • We chat about your event — how big the space is, how long you want us to play, and what kind of vibe you’re going for.

  • I bring along my ceilidh band (fiddle, whistle, piano, sax — we mix it up depending on what you need).

  • We call the dances so everyone feels included, whether they’ve been ceilidhing since birth or have never seen one before.

  • We keep the energy high, the music lively, and the atmosphere full of joy.

The Result
A reception full of smiling faces, new dance partners, and the kind of memories that only happen when you throw everyone into a Strip the Willow.
